Our Kennedy Town space supports a creative community of artists, curators, and researchers.
Applications to the studio programme are currently closed. The next open call will be in 2026.
The shared studio space at HART HAUS is a 10,000 square feet former factory unit located in Kennedy Town, designed to foster collaboration and exchange between artists and creatives.
We provide artists with 24-hour access to a dedicated space at affordable monthly rental rates.

Artists are invited to join the studio after moving through a rigorous open call application process where they can share proposals for how they intend to grow and expand their creative practice.
Studio artists are encouraged to connect with one another, exchange ideas, and collaborate on new projects and public programmes. Artists can also explore HART HAUS’s extensive network of mentors and alumni for further guidance and inspiration.

THE STUDIO
Evolving from a former factory into this flexible studio and salon spaces, HART HAUS maximises the possibilities of art and creative medium. With open-air terraces and refreshing greens to spark creativity, artists can opt to utilise shared open space or dedicated studio rooms. Artists will gain:
24-hour access to a secured shared studio near Kennedy Town MTR Station
A hall area for events and showcases
A pantry with communal areas
Basic equipment, tools, and printing service
Basic utilities including electricity, wifi, water supply, cleaning, and maintenance
Barrier-free facility including 2 cargo lifts
Onsite operations and administration support from studio assistant
THE COMMUNITY
HART HAUS offers a variety of resources that help explore one's creative career. This includes studio grants, regular advice and support, learning courses, partnership and collaborative opportunities. During their studio time at HART HAUS, artists can expect:
Opportunities to connection with fellow studio artists
Regular in-house gatherings and exhibition tours
Open Studios for the general public to engage with artists in their working environment
Networking opportunities with visiting art professionals and guests
Opportunities to hold public events at HART HAUS’s venues subject to proposal and availability
Opportunities to participate in art community projects and public programmes with partner organisations and Henderson Land’s properties
Opportunities to join sharing sessions, talks, and workshops held by guest facilitators

To complete your application for the Artist Studio programme at HART HAUS, you will need to:
Read the application manual and guidelines to learn about HART Studio
Complete the online application form and submit necessary documents
We recommend at least one visit to HART HAUS to prepare for your application. Candidates may also be asked to attend interviews with HART HAUS team in person during the selection process.
Upon successful application, you are required to:
Complete a payment (monthly fee and one month deposit) within 5 business days
Confirmation by countersigning Programme Agreement and the listed House Rules
Provide a photocopy of a valid HKID card, passport and/or business registration (BR) certificate
Attend orientation session arranged with our team at HART Haus before commencement
*For applicants interested in applying for the Studio Grant: Please make sure that you have completed the application for HART Studio before applying for Studio Grant. Both forms have to be completed.

Who can apply?
Artists, creators, and collectives of various backgrounds and disciplines are all welcome to apply. Our growing artistic community includes individuals and collectives of contemporary fine art, sculpture, design, photography, moving image, performance art, architecture, and more.
Successful applications will be evaluated based on the maturity and relevance of the portfolio and previous projects, openness and potential for interdisciplinary collaboration, and upcoming plans and proposals of art projects to be materialised.
Applicants with the following backgrounds or interests will also be given priority when assessing the applications:
Emerging artists within 5 years from graduation*
Locally based artists residing in Hong Kong for 5 years or above (foreign nationals with a valid working visa during the participation period would also be considered)
Experience in collaborative projects and/or community engagement
Note: Emerging artists within 5 years from university graduation (i.e. BA, MA, MPhil, PhD, etc.) are eligible to apply for a Studio Grant.

Proposals that outline your experience and upcoming plans, and how you intend to spend your time with HART HAUS
Proactiveness in proposing ideas and sharing creative progress
Active participation in HART HAUS’s activities including Open Studios
Active use of studio space on a regular basis
Community spirit and commitment to creating a safe and friendly environment
Selection Criteria
We do ask all HART studio users to:
Align with HART’s key pillars of creativity, community, sustainability, incubation, and educational outreach
Commit to creating and practising art and/or engage in creativity-/ innovation-related activities
Demonstrate frequent use of studio space at HART HAUS
Demonstrate strong commitment to community building and activities at HART HAUS
Lead as examples and role models to excite, inspire, and engage with fellow artists to make impactful collaborations and/or programmes
Adhere to HART HAUS House Rules regarding all studio use

Studio Rates
Studio rates start from HK$4,500 per month. Rates may vary according to needs of space, facilities, duration of occupancy, way of studio usage, contributions etc.
Studio Grant
Emerging artists within 5 years from graduation (i.e. BA, MA, MPhil, PhD, etc.) are eligible to apply for a Studio Grant. The Studio Grant entitles artists to a discounted monthly studio rate of HK$3,000 (all inclusive).
Studio Grant
The Studio Grant was created to support recent arts graduates who demonstrate outstanding artistic talent and entrepreneurial spirit.
HART Award
Created in 2020, the HART Award is a fully-funded studio scholarship empowering exceptional undergraduate student artists.
