Nicholas Wong has an extensive experience and qualification in English poetry writing, while his artistic practice allows him to explore ways to creatively “translate” them into visual mediums. His works may be text-based, text-integrated, or text-induced, with an emphasis on the dynamics between imagery and texture, tonality and medium.
Wong’s recent contributed writing was commissioned by “Masquerade” (2025) at M+, Hong Kong, an exhibition highlighting photography works by Cindy Sherman and Yasumasa Morimura. In Fall 2024, he was a resident under International Writing Program (IWP) at the University of Iowa, where he received the title Honorary Fellow in Writing. His has contributed writings to projects by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Manchester International Festival.
Wong is also the author of _Crevasse_ (Kaya Press, 2015), the winner of the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Poetry, and _Besiege Me_ (Noemi Press, 2021). He is the recipient of the _Australian Book Review_’s Peter Porter Poetry Prize. Wong currently teaches at the Education University of Hong Kong.
