Shawn Pakhin Tang 鄧伯軒
Artist, Co-Founder of interval:in studio & production
Shawn Pakhin Tang (b.1994) is a Hong Kong artist who works across expanded medium in sculpture and installation. His work incorporates domestic objects, industrial materials and electronic wastes, which are often embedded with analogue systems, presenting scenes of malfunction, power circulation, displacement and instability. In particular, through the processes such as sonification, deconstruction and reconstruction of collected materials, his practice explores the entangled relations between human technological footprints, environments, and infrastructures.
In 2023, Tang co-founded interval:in studio & production, an artist-run studio and production house in Hong Kong supporting sculptural and installation practices across wood, metal, casting, electronics, and other media. Tang was awarded the H.A. Bockmeyer Reisestipendium in 2024 for a project combining artistic research with coral reef restoration in Gili Trawangan, Indonesia.
Tang holds a BA in Interior Design from Birmingham City University (2016) and a BA in Visual Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University (2020). He recently completes his MA in Digital Media at the University of the Arts Bremen(2026). He lives and works between Hong Kong and Bremen, Germany.
