PODIUM, HART Haus, and Eaton HK are proud to announce a strategic partnership that bridges the gallery, not-for-profit, and hospitality sectors. Launching alongside the coming solo exhibition ‘World of Interiors’ of Berlin-based, Ürümqi-born artist Min-Jia that opens on 20 September, this collaboration aims to spark fresh dialogues through contemporary art, pioneering new collaborative models in Hong Kong’s vibrant art ecosystem.
As part of the residency collaboration, Min-Jia will host a Puppet-Making Workshop, where participants will explore the rich tradition of Chinese shadow puppetry. Over two engaging sessions, attendees will learn about traditional materials and techniques while creating their own hybrid snake puppets. The workshop will focus on the theme of transformation, inviting participants to connect with the artistry of shadow play through hands-on experience using vellum, the material central to Min-Jia’s practice.

HART to Heart 心藝系與堅尼地城
The “HART to Heart” campaign, a collaboration with Art in Place, brings together four interdisciplinary and emerging groups of artists to celebrate Kennedy Town’s unique character – DD Yung + Yasmina Viale-Fraine, Doris Ng + Sharu B. Sikdar, Elsa Ngai + Estelle Chan, and Zaat Hap Laa (Mimmy Tjia, Jeffrey Hung, Oscar Lau, and Emily Chan). Through a series of interactive public programmes including performances, walking tours, and workshops curated by the artists throughout April till late May, the community from the neighborhood or other kinds of cross-platforms audiences will have the opportunity to actively participate in the creative process, forging connections with neighbours they might not otherwise meet. From concept to completion, this initiative promises to weave craftsmanship, recyclable resources, painting with contemporary art-making approaches into the fabric of the neighbourhood, sparking dialogue and strengthening community bonds.
「心藝系與堅尼地城」 活動匯集四組跨媒介的新晉藝術家，共同頌揚堅尼地城的獨特面貌，組合包括 翁DD 與 梣茉莉、吳玳誼 與 Sharu B. Sikdar、 魏舍椏 與 陳郁子以及 藝術團體紮合啦（成員：謝旻蒑、洪梓維、劉浩然、陳瑋瑤)。一系列藝術家策劃公眾互動藝術工作坊，將於四月至五月下旬發生，當中包括表演、徒步導覽和工作坊。來自社區或其他跨平台的觀眾將會參與創作過程，與他們原本或不會相遇的鄰居建立聯繫。從概念直至完成，計劃貫徹採用當代藝術創作方法將手工藝及可回收資源融入社區，激發對話並加強社區聯繫。

Aimed to raise fund for the ‘This is proper panda' performance in the coming Art Basel, this workshop will give tutorial to fresh artists, fresh graduated artists, or graduated year art students, to develop their art project. This workshop will discuss possible art practice which can fulfil the ‘money-come-first, art-come-second' contemporary art scene. Based on the discussion, participants would make slogans and street bills which going to display in the coming Art Basel Hong Kong.

HART Visiting Artist-in-Residence 藝術家駐留計劃 - Bunny Cadag
We are delighted to share that Bunny Cadag, the final artist presenting live work for the exhibition ‘The Embrace and the Passage’, is hosted by HART for an artist residency in collaboration with Para Site.
During her residency, Cadag will conduct field research, including community engagement and workshops, to enrich her practice in pre- and postcolonial gender plurality, singing rituals, and healing. Often participatory and community-based, her work amplifies marginalised voices while navigating forms and spaces with empathy and generosity.

Para Site展覽「棲與渡」中最後一位呈現行為作品的藝術家 Bunny Cadag 將參與 HART 的合作駐留。

In a series of four workshops, artist AK will lead us on an auditory-enlightening journey, delving into the mystical worlds of sound along the curated hiking routes in Hong Kong. With an introduction to the principles of field recording, sound theories, and editing techniques, you will be guided to create a unique work of sound. Your work will have a chance to debut in ‘Nature: A perception’ exhibition, opening in HART Haus in June.

Come, bring your item, immerse it in a transparent cube of resin, and describe how you value it now that it is forever safe from.......
Through two meetings led by HART artists-in-residence The Buoy, you will take part in re-making an 'Antiques Television Broadcast'. Yet differently, our unique ways of valuing entombed objects will be shared with preservation experts in Hong Kong and the U.S.A. Finally, we can meet a third time, to explore a group artistic project, or to retire our objects. This programme is funded by a grant from the United States Department of State.

Join HART Social Studio artist and certified Golden Artist Educator Merryn Trevethan in this jam-packed hands-on introduction to acrylic paints and mediums!
No matter if you are complete beginners or artists with experimental spirits, you will have fun exploring innovative ways to use acrylics in this workshop. While exploring with colours, the participants will be introduced to and hence discover the different textural effects possible with a wide range of paints, gels, pastes and grounds. You can learn about the possibilities of changing the viscosity of your paints by creating washes, glazes as well as how to create thick textures with pastes and gels. The possibilities are endless!

The well acclaimed calligraphy course by our Hausian Chui Pui-chee is back, with this edition aiming to teach beginners the fundamental techniques and knowledge of Chinese calligraphy, focusing on clerical script and regular script . The 10-sessions course will start on 10 February 2022; the course is taught in Cantonese.

導師簡介
徐沛之博士，1980年生於香港，師從翟仕堯老師及王冬齡教授。1999年於皇仁書院畢業，先後獲香港中文大學藝術系學士、中國美術學院書法系碩士及博士學位。
徐氏曾任香港中文大學專業進修學藝術及設計課程統籌，編寫書法文憑及書法創作與理論研究高等文憑等課程、香港科技大學兼任講師、香港中文大學、香港中文大學專業進修學院課程榮譽顧問，以及任職於中國嘉德（香港）國際拍賣有限公司中國書畫部。現為及香港浸會大學兼任講師、甲子書學會執行委員（學術）以及中國美術學院現代書法研究中心研究員。
徐氏於2012年獲康樂及文化事務署頒發「香港當代藝術獎」的「青年藝術家獎」，及後於香港藝術發展局舉辦的「2015香港藝術發展獎」獲頒予「藝術新秀獎（視覺藝術）」，並於2015、2018及2020年三度入選「傑出亞洲藝術獎」。徐博士的作品獲香港藝術館、英國牛津大學阿什莫林藝術與考古博物館及私人收藏。近年重要展覽包括：「原典變奏—香港視點」、「晨曦之聲」以及「2020 Sovereign傑出亞洲藝術獎」。

Serious Academy - Hardcore Academic Sketching Boot Camp | 認真學院 — 零基礎素描&色彩訓練營
Artist Wu Jiaru will be holding a drawing boot camp at HART Haus starting in October 2021, to provide strict academic tutorial and training on drawing (sketch and colour painting). The course gives an introduction to basic theory on drawing, tutorial on using tools, teaching on drawing techniques, and provision of 1-on-1 demonstration of drawing, going through the tips and techniques one by one with the participants.
The course welcomes participants of any ages and experiences.
藝術家吳佳儒將在十月起每週六於HART Haus舉辦繪畫訓練營，提供嚴格的學院派繪畫教學與訓練。課程內容包括繪畫基礎理論介紹、工具使用教學和繪畫技巧傳授，並提供一對一畫作修改與示範，逐個擊破繪畫要訣。

書法精研班—懷仁集王聖教序及唐摹本王羲之尺牘
Our Hausian Chui Pui-chee is launching a 10-days course in Cantonese, teaching Chinese calligraphy in regular script, every Thursday starting from 23 September 2021 for ten sessions.
徐沛之博士將在 HART Haus 舉辦行書課程，講解懷仁集王聖教序的用筆與結體，示範書寫動作及細節。每位學員需要於堂上書寫研習，導師作個別指導。課程下半部份以唐摹本王羲之尺牘為例，集中分析王羲之行書用筆的細節部份，並指導學員完成仿作作品。
HART Hub#10 | The Discovery of A Secret Language 秘密語言
In the workshop “The Discovery of A Secret Language”, Mexican artist Ane Alfeiran will invite the participants to resonate with the secret language of embroidery works in history, to allow the participants to explore embroidering lines, patterns, or even text, to create your own secret languages. In the full day workshop, the artist will tutor several basic embroidering techniques, participants will then embroider on a canvas, to hide their own resilient secret message in their creation. In the later session of the workshop the artist will guide the participants to collaborate and deliver their own secret messages, at the end to sublimate the art pieces through creation, erasure, and replication. The embroidery pieces from the participants will be eventually stitched into a giant collaborative work, and the aesthetics of embroidery will be presented.
The collaborative outcome of the workshop will be presented to the public in the HART Social Studio showcase in the end of the year.
在《秘密語言》工作坊中，墨西哥藝術家 Ane Alfeiran 將向大家介紹和追溯歷史刺繡作品上的暗語，繼而帶領參加者探索如何透過刺繡線條、圖案，甚至文字，製作屬於自己的秘密語言。在全日的工作坊中，藝術家會先教授基本的刺繡技巧，讓參加者在畫布上刺繡，將自己柔韌的暗語隱藏於創作中。工作坊的環節將引導參加者合作互相寄託暗語，透過創造、消除、複製等方式，轉化及昇華刺繡作品。最終參與者的刺繡將匯集縫拼成一幅大型合作作品，並展示刺繡的美學意義。
工作坊的創作最後將在年末於我們的匯舍展示中向公眾展出。
Open Haus #1: Life Drawing 人體素描
HART presents life drawing nights on four Wednesday in August and September 2021. Riding on the launch of our open call of the HART Social Studio, we hope to invite participants to exchange ideas with artists in our artist studio in Kennedy Town through simple art creation exercises. We expect the programme may attract you who are interested in art-making in an open artist studio setting which encourages exchange, or are curious in our creative community.
A nude model is present for the sessions and materials for art-making are provided. Instead of providing tutorial, we encourage participants to create and explore in a casual setting with Hausians; our Hausian Wu Jiaru is present for any participants if assistance is needed, also to drive conversations and discussions among participants to foster the forming of a creative community on the event.

HART Hub #9 | THE MEMORY MAKER
We all keep old or damaged clothes in the closet in the hope to wear them again someday or because they bring up special memories. The workshop “THE MEMORY MAKER” invites you to celebrate these memories and refashion your pieces of clothes stuck in the closet with embroidery.
You are to bring a memorable picture of yours, to be translated into a computer language through a programme devised by the artists, to become the embroidery patterns of your unique artwork. You will then be taught an traditional Japanese embroidery technique, “sashiko”, to transfer the generated pattern on your old clothes.
The workshop is led by Noémie Clavier, a multi-disciplinary artist; and Yasmina Viale-Fraine, a fashion designer. The participants will explore how embroidery is not only a technique, but also a craft, a mindfulness practice, and an art practice to channel your precious memories and emotions.
我們都將舊或破損的衣服放在衣櫃裡，希望有一天再穿一次，或是因為它們帶來了特殊的回憶。 工作坊《MEMORY MAKER》邀請您慶祝這些回憶，重塑你長駐衣櫃裡的布料。
工作坊中你可以攜帶一張記念性的圖像，並利用一個由藝術家設計的電腦程序轉化為程式語言，成為你獨特作品的刺繡圖樣。藝術家隨後將教授傳統的日本刺繡技巧「刺子」，將生成的圖樣轉移至舊布料上。
工作坊將由兩位法國藝術家帶領：Noémie Clavier是一位多媒介藝術家；而Yasmina Viale-Fraine是一位時裝設計師。參加者將發現刺繡不單是一個技巧，還是一門工藝、正念練習，和一個可以連繫你珍貴回憶和感情的藝術創作。

HART CURATORSHIP INCUBATION PROGRAMME 策展培育計劃
HART Curatorship Incubation Programme (CIP) 2021 is HART’s first training programme in curatorship. Designed and driven together by 4 experienced female curators - Hilda Chan, Qu Chang, Alexandra Choa Tan, Jianru Wu, the programme aims at realising sustainable development and relationships for members of HART community as well as Hong Kong arts sector through professional knowledge sharing and exchange on curatorship.
HART 策展培育計劃 2021 是 HART 首個以策展為主題的課程。此計劃由四位資深的女性策展人共同設計並推動，她們分別為陳芍君、瞿暢、Alexandra Choa Tan，以及吳建儒。希望能藉此項目帶來策展相關的專業知識分享和交流，推動藝術的可持續發展，並建立和鞏固 HART 社群成員與香港藝術界之間的連繫。
HART HUB #8 | The Archive and I
The workshop “The Archive and I” aims to expand ideas around the archive, the limits, potential, and look at an archive as a departure point in one’s practice. The workshop is split into 2 sections, where an artist talk will cover contemporary modes of activating archives, including examples from contemporary artists and why they choose to use archives in the form of photographs, found film footage, and documents and texts to support their work. The latter part of the workshop will include a hands-on session with participants to build an archive as well as link the images from the collective pool of images into various self-driven narratives to make a body of work, to realize and construct possibilities from the archive itself. The workshop looks to view an archive as a means of not only preserving the past but also about modes of sharing the common.
工作坊《The Archive and I》希望拓展檔案（Archive）的概念、界限，以及潛能，並將檔案視為實踐的起點。工作坊分為兩部分，首先藝術家將分享檔案的現今應用模式，包括以當代藝術家為例，探討他們為何決定使用照片、尋獲片段、文件和文本等等的檔案來支持他們的作品。而工作坊的後半段中，參加者將動手建立檔案、以及連結集體的影像，創造自己的敍述和建立作品，全因檔案而得以實現。這個工作坊嘗試將檔案不只是看待成過往的紀錄，更是一種分享共同點的模式。
ONDO Holistic Sound - Sound Meditation with Shane Aspegren
ONDO Holistic Sound is a group exploration of sound’s therapeutic effects on mind and matter, in which Shane applies his multifaceted background as a contemporary artist and experimental musician, alongside his longtime holistic practices of yoga and meditation* on this traditional sound bath programme.
《ONDO Holistic Sound》聲音冥想活動中藝術家會將他創作當代藝術和實驗音樂的實踐，以及長期鍛練瑜珈和冥想的經驗應用至聲音治療上，參與群眾將共同探索聲響對心理和物理層面的治癒性能。
